Pick your track and meet your AI coworker
Choose the business you are starting, learn the one rule that runs this course, and create a Claude Project for your new business.
For the next 30 days you start a business with an AI assistant at your side. It helps you think, research, write and organise. You decide what is true, what goes out and what you sign.
Pick your track
This course has four tracks: coaching, virtual assistant, Etsy shop and Amazon seller. Pick the one you want to start on the course page. Every lesson has a shared part that everyone reads, then a short section for your track with examples and a prompt made for that business. You can switch tracks any time on the course page, and the shared part still applies. Torn between two? Pick the one you could start this month with the money and time you have now.
The one rule
The AI drafts, you send. Claude never sends an email, posts, publishes a listing, pays or refunds anything on its own. It prepares the work and you press the button. A draft takes seconds to read. A wrong message sent in your name can cost you a customer, or on a marketplace, your account. The free guide Let AI draft every reply, never send one explains why.
What you need
A Claude account at claude.ai (web browser or desktop app), 15 to 30 minutes a day, and a notes file for your decisions. Everything in Week 1 works on the free Claude plan, with limits. Free accounts can create up to five Projects. If you hit usage limits later, a paid plan is the usual fix, but you do not need one today.
Create your Project
A Project in Claude is a workspace with its own instructions and files. Every chat inside it reads those first. This week you fill that desk: your customer, your offer, your prices, your voice.
In Claude, open Projects from the left side menu and choose New Project. Give it a plain name like "My new business". Claude does not read the name or description, so rules go in the instructions, which you write on Day 7. Chats inside a project do not reliably remember each other, so anything that matters goes in a file.
Your first conversation
Start a chat inside the project and paste this, with the brackets filled in:
I am starting a new business from home: [one sentence, e.g. a career coaching business for people changing jobs]. Over the next month I want your help to shape the idea, research customers, set prices and write my first messages. The rule for everything we do: you draft, I send. You never send, post, publish or pay anything yourself. If you are not sure of a fact, say so instead of guessing. Ask me the 10 questions you most need answered to help me well. One message, numbered.
Answer in a short reply. Do not polish. Save your answers in your notes, because they become your raw material this week.
Your business

Coaching suits you if you like long conversations, can explain how you help people, and are happy selling a service you deliver live on video calls. It needs very little money to start. The hard part is finding clients and earning trust, which is what Week 3 is for.
Coaching is not therapy, medical advice or financial advice. Decide early what you will not take on, and point people elsewhere when a topic is outside it.
I am thinking of starting a coaching business in [life / career / business / wellness] coaching. Ask me five questions that help me decide which kind of coaching fits my experience, then summarise what you heard in three lines. Do not invent credentials for me.
Virtual assistant work suits you if you are organised, calm with detail and like keeping someone else's week running: inbox, calendar, bookings, documents and follow-ups. It needs little money to start, mostly a laptop and good habits.
Your clients will trust you with their accounts and their customers. That makes the course rule doubly important: you never let an AI send anything in a client's name, and later you keep a billing file and a work file for each client in your business Project.
I am starting a virtual assistant business. Here is my work history: [paste a few lines]. List the admin tasks I already have real experience doing, grouped into three or four themes. Only use what I wrote. Mark anything you are unsure of with [CHECK].
An Etsy shop suits you if you make things by hand, design printable or digital products, or curate vintage items. You need materials, decent photos and patience while the first sales come in.
Etsy has Creativity Standards that set what may be sold. Items are made, designed, handpicked or sourced by you, and reselling items you did not make or design is not allowed in the handmade category. Read the current standards at etsy.com/legal/creativity before you choose products.
I want to open an Etsy shop. Here is what I can make or design: [list]. For each item, tell me what I would need to check in Etsy's Creativity Standards before selling it. Do not tell me it is allowed. I will read the policy myself.
Selling on Amazon suits you if you like products, numbers and process. Be clear about two things before you pick this track. First, it needs money up front: you buy inventory before you sell it, plus samples, photos and fees. Second, Amazon has strict rules on what you sell, how you list it and how you talk to buyers, and breaking them can cost you your account.
If you have little money to spare right now, consider starting with a service track and coming back to Amazon later. You can switch any time.
I am considering selling on Amazon under my own small brand. Ask me five questions about my budget, my time and the products I am interested in. Then list the main risks I should understand before I spend any money. Do not estimate any income.
