AI for Amazon sellers: faster buyer replies, inside Amazon's rules
Let Claude draft buyer replies, claim responses and listing copy while you read, check and send everything inside Seller Central yourself.
Selling on Amazon on your own means a lot of writing that never feels like the real work. Buyer questions, return requests, listing copy, supplier emails. Claude can draft most of it in seconds. The rule stays the same: the AI drafts, you send. On Amazon that rule matters even more, because Amazon decides what you may say to buyers.
The admin that eats your week
- Buyer questions: sizing, compatibility, delivery dates, how to use the product.
- Returns and A-to-z claims: reading the case, checking the order and writing a clear, factual response.
- Listing copy: titles, bullet points and descriptions for new products and variations.
- Supplier and inventory emails: reorders, delays, quality problems and FBA shipment planning notes.
- Performance notifications: working out what Amazon is asking for and what you need to check before you answer.
What AI can draft for you
Claude can draft the reply to a buyer, a calm response to a claim, a first pass at listing copy, a reorder email to your supplier and a plain summary of a long account notice. You do the parts that carry risk. You check the facts, decide on any refund, and paste the final text into Seller Central yourself. You send every buyer message and publish every listing. Never give an AI tool your Seller Central login.
Copy these prompts
Put your product facts sheet in a Claude Project first: sizes, materials, compatibility, care, shipping times and your return terms. Then use these.
Draft a reply to this Amazon buyer question using only my product facts. Answer the question and nothing else. No links, no other products, no discounts, no request for a review, no phone number or email address. Keep it short and polite. If the answer isn't in my facts, write [CHECK] instead of guessing. Buyer question: [paste]
Here is a return request or A-to-z claim and my order details. Summarise what the buyer says happened, list the facts I should check (order ID, dates, tracking, item condition), then draft a short, factual response I can review. Don't offer a refund or replacement unless I write one in below. My decision: [refund / replacement / none yet] Claim: [paste] Order details: [paste]
Draft an Amazon product title, five bullet points and a description from these product details. Use only facts I give you. Don't add claims like "best", "eco-friendly" or medical benefits. Flag anything that may break Amazon's style rules for this category so I can check it. Category: [category] Details: [paste]
An example week
Here's an example of how a week could look. It is a sketch, not a result anyone measured.
- Monday: paste the weekend's buyer questions into your Project, draft all the replies in one sitting, then read and send each one in Buyer-Seller Messaging.
- Tuesday: work through open returns and any claim. Decide what you'll do, then let Claude draft the wording.
- Wednesday: draft listing copy for one new product and check every line against the real item.
- Thursday: draft supplier emails about stock and shipment timing.
- Friday: run your drafts past a checker Project and add a rule for any mistake you fixed twice.
Where the course helps most
- Day 5: write down the answers you give every week. This becomes your product facts sheet.
- Day 12: the hard emails, including complaints, refunds and saying no.
- Day 14: turn your edits into rules, so "no links, no review requests" is written once.
- Day 23: build a checker Project that reads each draft before you send it.

Play by the marketplace's rules
- Amazon limits buyer messages to what's needed to complete an order or answer a customer service question. Keep every reply to that.
- No marketing or promotions in buyer messages. That includes coupons and other products.
- Never ask for a positive review or offer anything in return for one.
- Rules on links, attachments, contact details and timing are detailed and do change. Check them before you send.
- Read Amazon's own communication guidelines in Seller Central and follow them over anything here.
