AI for Etsy sellers: faster replies, fewer late nights
Let Claude draft customer replies, custom-order quotes and listing descriptions while you send every message and publish every listing yourself.
You make things by hand. Then you spend the evening answering messages about them. Can you do it in blue, when will it arrive, how much for twelve. Claude can draft those replies and a first pass at your listings. The rule: the AI drafts, you send. You also publish every listing yourself.
The admin that eats your week
- Customer questions. Sizes, colours, materials, gift wrapping, processing times.
- Custom-order quotes. Working out a price and timeline for a personalised piece, then explaining it clearly.
- Shipping problems. Late parcels, wrong addresses, damage in transit.
- Listing drafts. Titles and descriptions for new items.
- Follow-ups. Checking in with buyers who asked about a custom piece and went quiet.
What AI can draft for you
- Questions: it answers from your shop facts sheet. You paste the draft into your shop messages, read it and send it.
- Custom quotes: you decide the price and timeline. It writes a clear quote message around your numbers. You check them and send.
- Shipping problems: you decide what you'll do: replace, resend or refund. It drafts a short apology that says exactly that. You send it and take the action yourself.
- Listings: it writes a title and description from your real details. You edit, remove any claim you can't back up, and publish it yourself.
- Follow-ups: it drafts a light, no-pressure check-in. You choose who gets one.
Copy these prompts
Using only my shop facts, draft a friendly reply to this customer message. If the answer isn't in my facts, write [CHECK] instead of guessing. Do not offer any discount or refund.
A customer wants a custom piece. My price is [amount] and it will take [time] to make, plus shipping time from my facts. Draft a short quote message that lists what's included, the total and when it could ship. Use my numbers exactly.
Here are the details of a new item: size, materials, colours, how I make it and who it's for. Write a listing title and description in the voice of my two example listings below. Do not add claims like "eco-friendly" or "hypoallergenic" unless they appear in my details.
An example week
Here's an example of how a week could look. Each morning you gather new messages, paste them into your shop Project and get drafts for all of them in one sitting. You read, adjust and send each one from your shop. On Tuesday a custom request comes in, so you set the price and Claude writes the quote around it. On Saturday you photograph new pieces, get listing drafts, edit them and publish.
Where the course helps most
- Day 3, Give Claude your offer and prices. Your shop facts and price list in one place.
- Day 5, Write down the answers you give every week. The answers behind most customer messages.
- Day 12, The hard emails: complaints, refunds and saying no. Calm replies to shipping problems.
- Day 20, Check a quote before you send it. A quick check on custom-order prices.

Stay safe
- Never give an AI tool your shop login or let it reply to buyers on its own.
- Read your marketplace's own rules on messaging, listings and refunds. Your replies and listings have to fit them.
- Paste only what a reply needs. A first name and order number are usually enough.
